My father is a good role model for me about personal financing. He is not a millionaire. Not a formal educated person without Phd, Master, Degree or even SPM.  His income is not very high but he manage to raise me and my 11 siblings. We get proper education because of him. He is never in bad debt. He managed to perform Hajj at age 30 with my mother,  a few years later supporting my late grandmother and late  grandfather to perform the Hajj too. 6% service tax on prepaid reloads and starter pack

While I am browsing the HyppTV news Headline today, there are a few headlines picked my interest, to name a few - issues Pet Hotel Operators, Mat Indera , Haze , CO2 Emmission. However there are a headlines that really attract my attention. "6% Service Tax on Prepaid Reloads and Starter Pack " KUALA LUMPUR : Those buying prepaid reloads and prepaid starter/SIM packs will be charged a 6% service tax from Sept 15. Not a good news. Another burden.  I am a post paid user and have been already charged by 6% tax so its not an issue for me. My postpaid bill is RM53 instead RM50. Because the RM3 is from the tax. So I am not worrying about me. My bill suits my phone usage.  I am worried about my father, my in law, and my wife whom using prepaid.  What does 6% means?  If you buy RM10.00 topup it will cost you RM10.60.
