6% service tax on prepaid reloads and starter pack

While I am browsing the HyppTV news Headline today, there are a few headlines picked my interest, to name a few - issues Pet Hotel Operators, Mat Indera , Haze , CO2 Emmission. However there are a headlines that really attract my attention.

"6% Service Tax on Prepaid Reloads and Starter Pack "

KUALA LUMPUR : Those buying prepaid reloads and prepaid starter/SIM packs
will be charged a 6% service tax from Sept 15.

Not a good news. Another burden. 

I am a post paid user and have been already charged by 6% tax so its not an issue for me. My postpaid bill is RM53 instead RM50. Because the RM3 is from the tax. So I am not worrying about me. My bill suits my phone usage. 

I am worried about my father, my in law, and my wife whom using prepaid. 

What does 6% means? 

If you buy RM10.00 topup it will cost you RM10.60. It is quite a lot of money to spend. In term of percentage it is quite high. If you put RM10.00 in ASB , you will not get RM0.60 straight away. 

Maybe some of you who have lot of money does not care about the cost. But from what I see, people go for prepaid to save more money.
