Price War in Shopee? 5 ways on how I overcome the Price War without reducing the price.

Price war has been a big problem for new Shopee sellers. Winning Price war in a platform like Shopee is not easy. Especially if we are selling product that have many sellers or big sellers. If we are trapped in price war, its better to have proper strategy and overall approach. Generally theses are 5 main thing I usually do in case of trapped in price war.

Emphasize unique features and benefit. 

Rather than engaging in a race to lowest price, i focus more on showcasing unique aspects of the product. Buyer will know what value they will be getting. Use proper keyword to highlight the uniqueness of the product.

Price Benchmarking  & SIP

While locally, sellers are at price war against each other, bear in mind that shopee not only covers Malaysia region. My strategy is to do well in shopee and join the Shopee International Platform. Benchmark with international market and strategize the pricing accordingly to sells to oversea. Product can sells with higher prices and more customers. For local market, we can also benchmark against other marketplace or physical shop. Try your best to avoid lowering down the price as the first effort.

Bundling and Free Gift

Instead of directly go against competitor, its better to go for bundle deal and free gift. Find a suitable free gift or item that complement the main product. This will give more value compared to lowering down the price with the same value. Sometimes buyer dont mind buying at a little bit high price in order to get the value offers in bundle deal. 

Sell Parts or  Whole

If applicable to your product range, you can sell it by part or instead of by part you can sell as whole product. It depend on the market research. I usually go against approach of the majority. Sells part if other seller sells whole, sell whole if other seller are selling parts. 

Know your product & Target accordingly

Whatever strategies you use, I feel that the most important part is to know your product very well. Its easier to target the customer if you know your product. 

These are 5 ways of overcoming the price war. Its not about winning, its about selling. You can sell, automatically you win!
