Problem Renewing Insurance and Road Tax For 16 - 20 years old Car

I successfully renewed my car insurance and roadtax, it is a Proton Wira 1.6 , made in year 1993. So it means that its already 18 years old.  

MyEG do not accept old car

This year I was trying to renew the roadtax and insurance online with MyEg, I successfully renewed my Perodua Viva road tax and insurance conveniently last year. Everything can be done online and the roadtax was delivered to my house. However, the same thing does not happened, for the case of the car aged 16 - 20 years old. MyEg only accept car which are not more than 10 years old. 

Kurnia Insurance Does Not Accept 16-20 years old car

Since MyEG is no more an option. I called Kurnia Insurans, to renew insurance. However, I am being told, that Kurnia does not accept cars aged 16 - 20.  According to that careline person, I need to contact their agent, and then the agent will decide whether I can renew my insurance with Kurnia or not. There are probability that the agent will take a look at my car's condition , and taking some pictures of my car  It seems complicated to me. I guess its just normal and logical for them to do like that. 

I don't like complicated thing, so after some search online, I learn that its true Kurnia Insurance does not accept cars above 15 years. So the option is to switch to another insurance. 

Try Etiqa 

Yesterday I renewed my insurance with Etiqa, through the agent at alamanda, Putrajaya. The agent told me that , if let say my car is already more than 20 years. I have no choice but to purchase third party insurance - Very good info!

Today, I renewed the roadtax at JPJ Bangi. Their service? Excellent! Very fast. 

Although it seems that I am doing a lot of work just to renew the car roadtax, I am not feeling stress at all. Thanks to nice people at Kurnia Insurance, MyEg , the Insurance Agent at Alamanda and also JPJ staff at JPJ Bangi.  Thanks for answering all my questions. 

Lesson of the story: 

1. You cant renew roadtax with myeg if your cars is already more than 10 years. 

2. Some insurance are not accepting cars with age 16-20. But we can find another insurance. 

3. Renewing insurance and roadtax is not hard as long as we know the procedure.
